Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal data Wise Bucks LLP collects when you visit our webinar and course pages, book and pay, join one of our WhatsApp groups or attend a live session; why we use it; who we share it with; and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
Who we are and what this covers
Wise Bucks LLP (“Wise Bucks”, “we”, “us”), SCO 28, Above PNB Bank, Sector 33-D, Chandigarh 160033, decides how and why your personal data is used for the services described here. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), we are the Data Fiduciary and you are the Data Principal.
This policy covers our webinar and course pages on thewisebucks.com, bookings and payments made through them, our WhatsApp groups, and our live online sessions and classes. We handle personal data in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules under it, and the DPDP Act and its rules as they come into force.
What we collect
- When you book and pay
Your name, email address and phone number, which you enter at the Razorpay checkout, and your payment status: amount, date and Razorpay payment ID.
Your card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and are not stored by Wise Bucks.
- When you join one of our WhatsApp groups
Your phone number, WhatsApp name and profile photo, as WhatsApp shows them to the group admins. Depending on WhatsApp’s settings, other members may also see your number and name.
In the Live Online Course students’ group, other students can also see your number, name and messages.
- When you attend a live session
The name you join with and, if you turn them on, your camera, microphone and chat messages, which the host and other participants can see and hear.
We do not record the ₹89 webinar. Some Live Online Course classes are recorded, and those recordings are shared only with the students of that batch. If you speak, turn on your camera or write in the chat during a recorded class, that may appear in the recording. We will say at the start of a class if it is being recorded. If you’d rather not appear, keep your camera and microphone off and send your doubts on WhatsApp instead.
- When you contact us
Your messages and the details you include in them, by WhatsApp, email or phone.
- When you visit our pages
Technical data such as your IP address and browser and device type, kept in our web host’s server logs, and the data that the Meta Pixel collects (section 03).
Cookies and analytics
Our webinar and course pages use Meta Pixel, which is switched on, and are set up for Google Analytics, which is not switched on yet:
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms), to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited our pages.
- Google Analytics (Google), to understand how visitors use our pages.
These tools use cookies and similar technology to record things like the pages you visit, the ad that brought you to us, the buttons you tap (for example the booking or WhatsApp buttons), and whether a booking was completed and for what amount. They do not receive your card or UPI details. Meta and Google handle this data under their own privacy policies.
Our pages also keep a small note in your browser’s local storage so that one booking is not counted twice in our analytics.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab). Our pages work without these cookies.
Why we use your data
- To confirm your booking and payment, and to give you access to the session or course you paid for.
- To send you joining links, reminders and updates about what you booked, by WhatsApp, email or phone.
- To run live sessions and classes, and to answer your questions and requests.
- To record some Live Online Course classes and share the recordings only with the students of that batch.
- To tell you about our Live Online Course and future sessions if you have booked with us or asked about them. You can ask us to stop these messages at any time.
- To process refunds, handle complaints, and prevent misuse and fraud.
- To measure and improve our pages and ads with Meta Pixel, and with Google Analytics once it is switched on.
- To keep accounting and tax records and meet our other legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, which you give when you book, contact us or join one of our groups, and, where the DPDP Act allows it, on legitimate uses such as using data you gave us voluntarily for the purpose you gave it, and meeting legal obligations. We use your data only for the purposes above.
When you visit our webinar and course pages, the Meta Pixel collects the data described in section 03. You can block it as described there, and we will add a consent choice for it as the DPDP Rules require.
How long we keep it
We keep your booking, payment and contact details while you are a student or in touch with us, and after that only as long as we need them for the purposes in this policy or as the law requires (for example, accounting and tax records). You can ask us to delete your details at any time; we will do so unless the law requires us to keep them. When we no longer need your details, we delete them or make them anonymous.
If you withdraw consent or ask us to erase your data, we delete it unless the law requires us to keep it, and we remove you from our WhatsApp groups if you ask. Messages already on WhatsApp, and data held by Razorpay, Google and Meta, are kept under those companies’ own policies.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access. Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and who we have shared it with.
- Correction and erasure. Ask us to correct, complete or update your data, or to erase it once it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Withdraw consent. Do it at any time, as easily as you gave it. This doesn’t affect what we did before you withdrew, but we may no longer be able to provide a session or course that depends on that data.
- Grievance redressal. Complain to our Grievance Officer (below) and get a response.
- Nominate. Name another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
To use any of these rights, WhatsApp or email us from the phone number or email address you used to book. We may ask you to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our Grievance Officer’s response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our services are meant for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make the booking and consent to us processing your personal data.
We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal data without a parent’s or guardian’s consent, and we do not knowingly track children or target ads at them. If you believe a child has given us personal data without that consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay, so we never receive your card, UPI or bank details, and only the team members who need your details to run your booking can access them.
No way of storing or sending data online is completely secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will post the updated policy here and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again.
Contact us and grievances
For any question, request or complaint about our policies or services, contact us. You can also write to our Grievance Officer directly.
